Caffiend, Bean Fiend, or Coffee Fiend? You're Definitely in the Right Place
So you typed caffiend into the search bar. Maybe you meant it. Maybe autocorrect had other plans. Either way, welcome - you found us, and you're exactly where you belong.
We're Bean Fiend, a small-batch specialty roastery in Wilmington, North Carolina, and we've spent enough time reading our own search console to know that people find us under a lot of names. Some of them are ours. Some of them are pure spelling chaos. We love all of them equally, so let's sort this out.
Wait, Is It "Caffiend," "Bean Fiend," or "Coffee Fiend"?
Short answer: if you're looking for a fresh-roasted, small-batch coffee obsession, all three are close enough. Here's the slightly longer answer.
Caffiend
A "caffiend" is the internet's favorite mashup of caffeine and fiend - the person who genuinely looks forward to the second cup before the first one's done. It's not our legal name, but it might as well be our job description. If you searched "caffiend," you're describing a personality, and we're the roastery built for it.
Bean Fiend
This one is us. Bean Fiend is the actual name on the bag. We roast single origins and small-batch blends, ship them fresh, and price them honestly, because "fiend" shouldn't mean "paying luxury markup." If you're a bean fiend, you're home.
Coffee Fiend
The classic. "Coffee fiend" is what your non-coffee friends call you. We'll take it. Same brand, same beans, slightly less alliteration.
What About "The Bean Fien," "Bean Head," and "Beandrop"?
The misspellings are honestly our favorite part. Search engines see people hunting for "the bean fien," "coffee feen," "bean head coffee," and "beandrop," and a lot of them land here eventually. So to be clear:
- "The bean fien" - yes, that's us with a typo. The beans are very real.
- "Coffee feen" - same note, different vowel. Fresh roast, no problem.
- "Bean head coffee" - a lovely nickname, though we're not the ones with that exact name. If you're after a bean-obsessed roastery, keep scrolling.
- "Beandrop" - sounds like it should be our loyalty program. (It's not. But noted.)
Whatever you call it, the coffee is the same. And it's roasted fresh in Wilmington, North Carolina.
So What Is Bean Fiend, Actually?
Glad you asked. We're a specialty roastery that hunts down the fun, weird, and genuinely excellent lots - the co-ferments, the rare varietals, the producers doing wild things with process - and roasts them in small batches so the good stuff reaches you while it still tastes like something.
That means:
- Single origins with a story. This isn't anonymous bean water. Take our Pichincha Ecuador Pacamara, a washed Pacamara with lemon-lime, jasmine, and rose - the kind of cup that makes people put their phone down.
- Experimental lots for the curious. The Julio Madrid Nitro Caturra goes through a nitro-charged wash with a watermelon coferment and lands somewhere around "Jolly Rancher in a mug." You'll either love it or need to talk about it.
- Producers worth knowing. We name them because they earned it. The Guevara & Lasso Gesha comes from Juliana Guevara and Wbeimar Lasso at La Terraza Estate, and it's one of our all-time favorites.
- A daily driver that just works. Not everything has to be a science experiment. Bean Fiend Daily is creamy walnut and milk chocolate, low-acid, and forgiving enough to drink black, with cream, or half-asleep at 6 a.m.
- Great decaf, genuinely. Our Decaf Organic Mexico MWP is chemically-free Mountain Water Process, and it honestly doesn't taste like decaf. Nightcap, solved.
FAQ: The Quick Version
Are "caffiend" and "Bean Fiend" the same thing? Close enough for search purposes. Caffiend is the vibe; Bean Fiend is the roastery. Same energy, same fresh-roasted beans.
Do you only sell beans, or is there merch? Beans are the main event, but merch exists for the true fiend.
Where do you roast? Wilmington, North Carolina. Freshness is the whole point - we roast small and ship fast so you're not drinking something that sat in a warehouse for a year.
I've never tried a Gesha or a co-ferment. Where do I start? Start with Bean Fiend Daily or the Bean Fiend Espresso Blend if you want something classic. Then graduate to the Guevara & Lasso Gesha when you're ready to see what all the fuss is about.
